The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has announced his intention to contest for the position of National First Vice Chairman ahead of the party’s internal elections.
In a statement addressed to party executives, elders, patrons and members, Nana B said his decision was motivated by a commitment to help rebuild the party and prepare it for the 2028 general elections.
He said his 26 years of service within the NPP had given him the experience to strengthen the party’s structures, reconnect with its grassroots and contribute to its efforts to return to power.
“By the grace of God, and after twenty-six years of active service to our party, I believe the experience and lessons I have gained have prepared me to help strengthen our party structures, reconnect with our grassroots and contribute meaningfully to our collective mission of returning the New Patriotic Party to government in 2028,” he said.

Nana B traced his political journey to the 2000 general elections, when he served as a polling station agent in the then Manhyia Constituency, and highlighted his rise through various constituency, regional, student and national leadership positions.
His previous roles include TESCON President at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Director of Events and Programmes of the party’s National Youth Wing, National Youth Organiser and Vice Chairman of the International Young Democrat Union (IYDU).
He has also served on the NPP’s National Communications Team, National Steering Committee, National Executive Committee and National Council. In addition, he was a member of the party’s legal team for the 2020 presidential election petition, its 2020 and 2024 national campaign teams, and the planning committee for the 2025 National Delegates Conference.
Nana B said his bid is centred on promoting unity within the party and positioning it for victory in the next general election.
“My aspiration is anchored on the belief that with unity of purpose and renewed determination, we can reposition our party for victory in the 2028 general elections,” he said.
He appealed to party members to support his candidature as he seeks election as the NPP’s next National First Vice Chairman.
