The Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) has temporarily suspended its ongoing industrial action and directed members to resume work from Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
The Association’s National Executive Committee (NEC) said the suspension would remain in effect until after a scheduled meeting with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) on Tuesday, August 25.
According to GAUA, the decision is intended to allow further engagement with the FWSC, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and the Minister for Education over the concerns that led to the industrial action.
Members have therefore been instructed to return to their duties while awaiting the outcome of the discussions.
In a notice to members, the NEC expressed appreciation for their solidarity and cooperation throughout the industrial action and urged them to remain committed as negotiations continue.
The Association said members should await further directives following the August 25 meeting, which is expected to determine the next course of action.
