NPP announces voter ID requirements ahead of October 3 national elections

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the programme and voter identification requirements for its national conference scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026.

In a notice issued on Wednesday, September 30, by the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC), the party said the conference would be conducted in two main stages.

The first stage will involve consideration of proposed amendments to the party’s constitution, followed by the election of national officers.

Consideration of the constitutional amendments is scheduled to begin at exactly 9:00 a.m., while voting in the national officers’ elections is expected to commence at 12:00 p.m.

The NPP urged constituency, regional and national officers, as well as delegates, to adhere to the programme and arrive early to ensure an orderly process.

According to the notice, voting will take place at 31 polling stations, where delegates will elect national officers to nine positions.

The positions include National Youth Organiser, National Nasara Organiser, National Treasurer and National Communications Director, alongside other national executive positions.

The Electoral Commission (EC) will supervise the elections and conduct verification of delegates before they are allowed to vote.

The party said delegates must have their names on the official delegates’ register and present at least one valid identification document for verification.

Accepted identification documents include the Ghana Card, Voter ID card and NPP party card.

The NPP has therefore urged delegates to attend the conference with at least one of the approved identification documents to avoid delays during the verification process.

Delegates have also been advised to allow sufficient time for verification before voting begins.
