The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced plans to evacuate first batch of 300 Ghanaians living in South Africa through a special chartered flight scheduled for 21 May 2026.
According to information released by the Ministry, the evacuation flight will depart from South Africa at 5:00 a.m. from the O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.
The Ministry stated that the evacuation exercise is being fully funded by the Government of Ghana and will be offered free of charge to affected Ghanaian nationals.
In the public notice, the Ministry urged Ghanaians seeking additional information regarding the evacuation process to contact Ghana’s High Commission in Pretoria for assistance and further directives.
